ABOUT THE OWNERS
DeJazz Woods, Owner
DeJazz Woods was born to United States Air Force veteran parents. This was the beginning of the discipline that he has as a successful business owner. As a military child DeJazz learned how to take control of any circumstance to accomplish his goals.
DeJazz has always had a love for sports. As a leader he was the captain of his high school football team. Upon graduating he received an academic and football scholarship to attend the University of Illinois. He set a goal to graduate with his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management in three and half years, and his master’s in five. This of course was not an easy task because being a student athlete required dedication to details and duties. As with business these qualities are an intricate part of being a business owner.
After completing his academic goals, he begins working in the athletic Institutional equipment business. He met the owners of H.E. Hodge and established a strong relationship. After several years of laying a foundation and mentorship from Jeff Hodge the past President, DeJazz became the owner.
Karina Gomez, Owner
Karina Gomez is a Chicago native with a passion for all sports, her favorite sport being football. As a child whose first language was Spanish, Karina was surrounded by her four siblings growing up learning English in preschool.
Karina started her first job at 14 years old, ambitious and willing to work to pay for her basketball gear as a freshman in High School. Karina was the first to attend college in her family, graduating from DePaul University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Karina’s passion has always been to improve the conditions of our educational facilities. She has been an advocate for the youth since being a youth pastor at church. She believes that providing safe facilities with quality products for our youth is her purpose in life. DeJazz and Karina met in 2016 in Champaign, IL and have been together ever since. They moved to Atlanta, GA in 2020 to pursue their aspirations in owning their own business.
Karina’s role at H.E. Hodge focuses on marketing, branding, communications, lead generation, and a variety of other functions that facilitate day to day operations. H.E. Hodge Company continues to evolve into the best organization we can be for our clients. Karina enjoys traveling, trying new food, spending time with family, and watching College Football.
